Congratulations to all of you once again!
Last night, in Toronto (and as reported in Wednesday morning’s Globe and Mail), the results of the Best Workplaces in Canada survey were announced, and we are immensely proud to announce that Performance Realty not only ranked 11th in Canada, but also ranked number 1 for Best Workplaces for Women, out seeding industry titans such as Google and Microsoft. What a tremendous achievement that we can all be proud of!
Furthermore, we were also recognized as one of the Best Workplaces in Canada in the Credibility index, as well as in the Pride dimension. These criteria are based on the employee survey: Credibility is based on two-way communication, competence and integrity, and Pride is based on personal job, team, and corporate image.
This being our sixth consecutive year in a row as a top-ranking firm in Canada, is certainly no small feat, especially given that so few organizations have been able to achieve this milestone. This is a great testimony to you and the culture and values we have developed in our firm, namely Respect for the individual, Honesty, Integrity, Professionalism and Caring for Others, and your willingness to work in a positive and supportive atmosphere.
It is that much more significant this year that, despite Pierre’s medical absence and the challenges that came with it, you continue to demonstrate your unwavering trust, confidence and loyalty, and for that, we are extremely grateful.
As you may recall, the competition process is based on two criteria: first, an in-depth survey completed by you; and secondly, a rigorous in-depth review of our organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. Together, they provide crucial data and an accurate portrait to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. More than 57,000 employees participated nation-wide in the 2013 “Best Workplaces in Canada” survey.
These awards are a testimony and a reflection of you. A culture cannot be dictated by policy; it has to be lived every day to truly show its value. A great workplace is one where you trust the people you work for, have pride in what you do, and enjoy the people you work with. We have achieved this milestone by the great work, commitment and attitude brought by each and every one of you. We are immensely proud of the culture and atmosphere that exists in our firm and your achievements.
When asked the question, “I’m proud to tell people I work here,” 97% of you responded positively, and 97% of you responded positively to the statement, “Taking everything into account, I would say this is a great place to work.”
On behalf of Pierre and your Management Team, please accept our congratulations to you for making Performance Realty once again one of Canada’s top Best Workplaces. Pierre wishes to extend his heartfelt appreciation for your constant loyalty and unwavering support, and is extremely proud and grateful to have you part of this great organization!
