More and more condo developments have been planned in Ottawa in recent months, and whether it’s a new Centretown highrise offering views of the city skyline or a community of townhomes conveniently located in the heart of Orleans, there’s a condo to suit any buyer’s needs. As prices for single family homes continue to edge upwards, several buyers across Ottawa are looking to the condo market as they search for their dream home.
With condos being built in all areas of Ottawa, buyers can now find a home that suits their needs while still offering plenty of nearby amenities in well-established neighbourhoods. Buyers have more options as well, allowing them some room for negotiation and comparing different condos before making a selection. Legendary Warehouse Lofts is a new condominium building currently under construction near Bank and Walkley in the south side of Ottawa. The neighbourhood is located between Alta Vista and South Keys, providing plenty of shopping, recreation, schools, and more to its residents.
New Condos Adapt to Ottawa’s Growth
The new loft style condos are built upon the idea that cities grow and change, and Ottawa is no exception. As light rail transit and consistent redevelopment are in the works for the residential neighbourhoods surrounding the urban core, these new condos offer the chance to live in what will eventually become the new heart of the city. The architect’s mission is to create an industrial-inspired loft environment that will not only welcome contemporary lifestyles, but will become an integrated piece of the existing community. Designed to reignite and celebrate Ottawa’s industrial past, Legendary Warehouse Lofts aspire to bring the nostalgic legend of a historic railroad, commissioned to service the south end of the city. The legend is expected to come to life in the building’s warehouse-inspired design.
Suites range in size from 635 square feet for a one-bathroom unit to over 1,200 square feet for larger units, including outdoor space on the private terraces. Sales for available suites start at $242,784 and reach $363,271, depending on the size and floor plan of the selected unit. Parking is also available for an additional cost, with storage space included in the purchase price of the suite. Units feature approximately 9’ ceilings, with heights of about 12’ on ground floor units where available. Energy-efficient aluminium windows are sealed with light tinting, providing UV reduction while reducing heating and cooling costs for the homeowner. Units also feature hardwood flooring in living areas, Quartz countertops and ceramic subway backsplashes in the kitchens, and stainless steel appliances (for a limited time). Designer kitchen cabinetry featuring an industrial look, as well as the custom designed kitchen island and the exposed brick on the interior side of exterior walls, contribute to the industrial atmosphere of the lofts.
South Ottawa Amenities Great for Buyers
The surrounding neighbourhood offers a variety of amenities for buyers, including many shops and restaurants along Bank Street in addition to the nearby Billings Bridge Shopping Centre. A quick trip down the street will also bring you to South Keys, one of the city’s premier destinations for shopping. Parks and recreational facilities are within walking distance to the new condos, while the Rideau River and Mooney’s Bay, also located nearby, provide great places to enjoy evening walks or spend the weekend with the family.
