As the cold temperatures continue across the capital, residents and tourists can look forward to warming up at this year’s TD Ottawa Winter Jazz Festival. The event celebrated its opening events this past weekend, with more events scheduled for February 13th-15th. Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Ottawa with an evening of unique jazz artistry, followed by dinner and drinks in the ByWard Market, just a short walk away.
Celebration of Music and Culture in Centretown
The Ottawa Jazz Festival has a long history in the National Capital Region, with annual events highlighting Canadian and international jazz musicians. This celebration of music and culture is hosted in both the summer and winter seasons, with the winter festival providing the perfect escape from the cold.

Experience a variety of unique appearances from Reuben and the Dark, Scott Helman, Martha Wainwright, and more on Saturday as part of the festival’s Small Shows in Sacred Spaces. Each artist will be featured in their own show throughout various smaller spaces inside the event venue. The evening will be completed with a musical tribute to Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen.
Enjoy All of Ottawa’s Winter Festivities
Next weekend’s events will take place at the Dominion-Chalmers United Church, located at the corner of Cooper and O’Connor in Centretown. As Ottawa’s most central walking district, Centretown is the perfect event location for both local residents and visitors to the city. The Church is easily accessible by multiple transit routes and is also convenient for those looking to walk from the surrounding neighbourhoods. Parking is available for those who wish to drive.
Following the festival, be sure to stop by Confederation Park, the Rideau Canal, or the ByWard Market to take in the Winterlude festivities that will be continuing into next weekend. Whether you’d like to enjoy a late night skate with a loved one, take the chance to see some of the impressive ice and snow sculptures on display, or simply stop for a Beavertail before heading home, there’s plenty to do in Ottawa at this time of year.
