Lighting can create ambience and means you will be able to use your outdoor space well into the evening. Consider hanging up a string of lights for a romantic feel, or install solar lights to catch the sun’s rays in the day and turn on automatically at night.

Brighten things up by adding a pop of colour! Is your deck or fence looking a little tired? Perhaps there is an exterior wall that could do with a refresh. Painting is a simple but effective way of cheering up a dreary space. Choose your favourite colour and go for it!

Provide a focal point for your deck or patio with an umbrella or gazebo. A structure such as this will also offer some protection from the heat of the sun during the daytime. Some gazebos come with an insect net attached, which you can roll down at dusk to prevent insects affecting your evening meal!
